HBC WILLIAMSBURG TRIP
Updated on 01/17/2026
The Harrisburg Bicycle Club sponsors a 3-day bicycling event in Williamsburg, VA, every other year. In 2026, the event will be held from September 24th to 27th.
The format for the event is as follows:
• Travel to Williamsburg on Thursday, 9/24, and check in to the Powhatan Resorts.
• Bike a route of your choice on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. A selection of routes will be available on Ride With GPS.
• Check out and return to Harrisburg on Sunday, 9/27.
This year, lodging will be at the Powhatan Resorts, a Hilton property. One- and two-bedroom units are available. Please note that all suites have a king-sized bed and a sofa bed.
Powhatan Resorts is located a few miles west of Williamsburg and is convenient to most cycling routes in Charles City County and Surry County, as well as the Virginia Capital Trail.
Hospitality will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4 - 6 PM.
Registration Fee
Attendees are asked to first make their own reservations at the Powhatan and then, once made, to register on the HBC website.
This will ensure you receive our negotiated room rate from our reserved room block. NOTE: The reservation deadline is 8/24/26. After that date, any rooms not booked from our room block will be released.
You may also add days before or after the event at our negotiated rate.

Extending Your Travel
To book rooms before or after the block dates, guests should make their reservation for the dates within the block, then email Crystal Moxam at Crystal.Moxam@hgv.com to request that the additional nights be added. Guests should provide their reservation number and intended arrival and departure dates.
Ride Options
The Williamsburg area is "bicycle-friendly" with dedicated bicycle/multi-use paths and bike lanes. Routes are available to provide a variety of ride options and lengths. Routes will be available to/from the hotel and Jamestown, Yorktown, and Colonial Williamsburg. For those who wish to ride longer distances and explore the countryside, longer routes will be available in the surrounding counties of James City, Charles City, York, and Surry (accessible via a free ferry). For those who opt for the safety and calm of dedicated bicycle paths, the Virginia Capital Trail and Powhatan Creek Trail offer many miles of scenic riding. The Virginia Capital Trail extends 52 miles from Jamestown to Richmond! The Colonial Parkway will be used on some of the routes as well.
Lodging
This year, we will be staying at the Hilton Vacation Club Historic Powhatan Resorts. All units include full kitchens and living rooms with sofa beds. Both one-bedroom and two-bedroom units are reserved as part of our room block. Please note - all suites have a king-sized bed and a sofa bed.
Breakfast is not included; however, a restaurant on-site is available for purchase if you choose. Alternatively, you might want to bring your own breakfast food, as a kitchen will be available.

Things to do in Williamsburg
The Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown areas are known collectively as the "Historic Triangle."
The preserved and restored Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown Battlefield, Revolutionary War Museum, and Jamestown Settlement and Museum are all within a 10-mile radius of the hotel. Note: additional fees apply for admission to many museums and restored sites.
In addition, there is a wealth of shopping, dining, and recreational opportunities, including the expansive Williamsburg Premium Outlets, a variety of fine restaurants, and the Williamsburg Winery, which offers tours and wine tastings. Not to mention six local brew pubs!
