About this event
We planned to have the 2026 HBC Picnic at Fort Hunter Park, as usual, but due to ongoing construction around the East Pavilion, we had to move the picnic to another location.
So now, this year's HBC picnic will be held at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park in Mechanicsburg on Sunday, Aug. 2. HBC has rented the “baseball pavilion” which is near the batting cages. To reach this pavilion, you don’t need to actually enter the park…it’s at the intersection of N. Washington Street and W, Green Street. If you use the address 332 W. Green Street, Mechanicsburg you’ll see the pavilion in front of you. Restrooms and parking are nearby.
Rides will be offered in the morning for all levels of rides from D+ to B, but there's plenty to do at the park even if you don't ride a bike.
Thanks to Dave Young for once again offering to be the Grillmaster.
Lunch will be at 12:30 p.m. Bring a folding chair, although there is a limited amount of seating available at the picnic tables in the pavilion. You can also bring lawn games or other activities. Relax and have a good time with friends. The pavilion is ours until 4:30 p.m.
HBC will provide the grilled chicken, hot dogs, water and Gatorade. Everyone who attends is asked to bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert to share. You can also bring lawn games or other activities. Relax and have a good time with friends. The pavilion is ours for the whole day.
Please note that alcohol is not allowed in the park.
Because of the change in location, you’ll get to see some new scenery!
