All good things must come to an end, including this summer weather!!!
Meet at the corner of Leidigh Rd and Gutshall Rd, outside of Boiling Springs for a leisurely social hike on the Appalachian Trail, headed south. Approximately a 4.5-to-5-mile out-and-back hike over Center Knob to the Alec Kennedy Shelter. Snack / lunch stop at the shelter. Bring some for the leader!
We will then retrace our steps but skirt around Center Knob (if we can find that bypass trail).
Be prepared for some mud as we cut through the cornfields near Leidigh Rd.
