About this event

Time to burn off your Thanksgiving cheer with one last opportunity before the hunters take over the woods.

RSVP by Thursday evening so I know you are coming : MRiordan95@comcast.net

You must be able to get across the Clark Valley Cable Bridge, about 100 yards from the end of the hike. NO DOGS allowed on this hike!!!!

Meet at 9 AM at the Appalachian Trail crossing of Clarks Valley Rd (state route 325), 10 miles up the valley from the 3B Ice Cream Shop in Dauphin.

Participants are urged to wear orange!!!!!

This 8.5-mile hike will have some challenges as we head up to the village of Yellow Springs, an abandoned mining town located above Dehart Reservoir. This unique area contains the remains and root cellars of old hotels and other buildings as we walk down the former Main St.

From the trailhead, it will be a 3-mile moderate climb on the Appalachian Trail to the top of the ridge and the Horseshoe Trail. We will continue along the ridge and the former Main St of the village of Yellow Springs.

From the Stone Tower ruins, we will descend the steep, scree-covered Stone Tower Trail to the Clark Valley Cable Bridge and the parking lot.
