This ride will leave from Briarcrest at 5 pm and connect with the group at the MHS Founders Hall at 5:15 pm. Warm up will be the ride over to MHS. Pace will be 19-20 mph (top end of the B+ pace) riding at the back of the main group for safety reasons. Distance is a 30–40-mile loop through Mt Gretna. Safe riding is the number one responsibility of anyone on the HBC ride. ALL HBC safe road riding rules must be followed.

Bike the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail (NWLCRT) From Falmouth to Columbia and Back 9:30 AM, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 Distance 28 miles Speed 8 – 11 mph Ride leader: Karl Martz Let‘s go for a ride on the NWLCRT! The Northwest Lancaster County River Trail runs along the Susquehanna River from Falmouth PA to Columbia, PA. All of the trail is paved. The trail is located between the Susquehanna River and Pennsylvania Route 441. We will meet at 9:15 AM at the Falmouth Boat Launch, 111 Collins Rd. Bainbridge PA 17502. The ride will begin promptly at 9:30 AM. Helmets are required. In-the-ear listening devices are not allowed. This is an out-and-back ride. Bring water and snack. We will take a rest stop when we arrive in Columbia at the Columbia Crossings River Trails Center (restrooms, picnic tables, and a great view of the river). Other stops as needed. Ride the Conewago Recreation Trail and Lebanon Valley Rail Trail Elizabethtown Trailhead to Mount Gretna (out and back) 10:00 AM, Friday, May 24, 2024 24 miles at Learning to Linger Pace (8-11mph) The ride will begin at the Lancaster County start of the Conewago Recreation Trail on Route 230 (2385 North Market Street, Elizabethtown). It is between Middletown and Elizabethtown on the East side of Route 230. From Harrisburg, take route 230 or route 283 east towards Elizabethtown. The trailhead is the beginning of the Conewago Recreation trail, which is 3 miles on route 230 towards Elizabethtown from the Toll House Road stop light on Route 230. Plan on arriving at 9:45 AM and be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. Bring water, and money/credit card for lunch (during the ride) at the Mount Gretna Pizzeria. Meet 6:00 PM at CVS 550 N. Progress Ave, Harrisburg. Park on the side of store and ready to depart by 6:15. We will ride a new paved section that joins the Veterans Park extension of the Greenbelt to behind the state hospital and return . Pace 9-11 mph about 12 miles. We will have dinner at Torino’s Pizza and Grille next to CVS. Delicious Pizza, sandwiches and dinners. Outside seating available. ( menu on toninospizzaonline.com ). It is always suggested that you have hydration, snack and a spare tube on your bike. Our Friday night socials are family friendly and we welcome diners only, we get back by 7:30. Weather cancellation by 4:00 PM . If you are new to the club this is an excellent way to socialize , ride and get some experience in group riding with riders of all levels of expertise willing to coach.

Meet at Fort Hunter Riverside near the playground and bathrooms. 9:00 am for a 9:15 departure. We will ride to Wildwood, HACC, Farm Show and to behind the State Hospital and some of Front Street. This is mostly flat and off road. About 20 miles at 9-11 mph . The Arts Festival is in Harrisburg so we will avoid any further then Front and Forester. It is always suggested to bring hydration, snack and a tube for your tire. No one dropped. This is a great group of riders Saturday morning who are helpful and willing to help with all your biking questions and needs. Weather cancellation by 7:00 am .
