Join us for one of the most scenic rides in the area. This year’s routes will follow the famous and beautiful 76 TransAmerica Trail All Routes follow the Historic 76 Bike route which is clearly marked. The Routes will travel towards Lexington which will be the turn around point for the Century. It will be a folded route –out and back. All 3 distances will follow the same route; turning around sooner at designated areas will shorten the distance. Route Distances: ¼ Century ½ Century Century (100 miles) Start Point: Walrond Park, Roanoke County, Roanoke, VA Directions: From I-81 – Take Exit 146 towards Hollins (Plantation Road) and proceed approximately 1/4 mile to Walrond Drive, between Sunnybrook Garage and Double Envelope. Turn right on Walrond Drive and proceed into Walrond Park. To register by mail: Download Registration Form Questions regarding registration contact Mary Nottingham Ride is minimally supported to keep cost at a minimum. BRBC volunteers will be at the start to help with parking and check in riders. All Riders will be given route Map/Queue sheet. There will be bike support/water/bathrooms available at the start. SAG vehicles will be along the route to offer assistance to riders. Vehicles will be equipped with Bike Racks (to transport disabled bikes/riders), fluids, nutrition, communication abilities (cell phones), first aid kits for minor problems, and basic bike repair items. There will not be any BRBC supported rest stops along the routes. Riders are encouraged to carry money and to support the numerous local stores/restaurants along the scenic route. After the ride you are welcome to “tail gate” with other cyclists!
