2012 Chocolate Tour to benefit cancer research PDF print email

Join Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute on September 29, 2012, for the second annual Chocolate Tour to support cancer research at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

The inaugural event was a huge success last year.  People from as far away as Michigan, Connecticut, South Carolina, Delaware, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and Virginia joined Pennsylvanians in large numbers, to support fundraising efforts at the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, making the event a huge success with over 860 people participating.

For the 2012 event, cyclists, walkers, and runners can support cancer research by participating in relay full and half marathons (team events); Six-mile Foreman Foundation Chocolate Tour Run (Race);  Six mile Geltrude Foundation Chocolate Tour Walk;  Life Technologies eight-mile, thirty-five mile, and sixty-five mile Chocolate Tour Cycling events.  With rest-stops every mile, runners and walkers will enjoy local chocolate from the area.  Cyclists will enjoy rides through the beautiful countryside of central Pennsylvania with its Amish farms, wooded areas, and covered bridges while visiting the historic chocolate towns of Hershey (home of Hershey’s chocolate factory), Elizabethtown (home of M&M/Mars chocolate factory), and Lititz (home of Wilbur Chocolate Company).  A commemorative T-shirt is guaranteed to event participants who register by September 1.
