DEAR FELLOW BICYCLE RIDERS,
IF YOU ARE 18 OR OLDER, please take part in an anonymous survey for a research study about bicycling practices and bicycling accidents. The survey will take only about 15-20 minutes to fill out.
IT DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT RIDING YOUR BICYCLE. Your answers will help researchers find out how to make bicycling safer.
YOU WILL NOT BE ASKED FOR YOUR NAME. No one will find out how you answered the questions.
TO GO TO THE SURVEY, please use this link:
THANK YOU! If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. (I won't ask you to tell me your name. )

I'm working on a project I call the "Appalachian Cycleways Network (ACN)," which is a network of back-roads bicycle touring routes from GA to NY. I've posted an article on the crazyguyonabike.com site about the ACN which is at
I've been working on posting parts of the ACN network on the ridewithgps.com site to share with folks in various regions of the ACN area. This email is to share with the Harrisburg Bicycle Club the following "mini-networks" of the ACN:
1. the ACN CUMBERLAND VALLEY at http://ridewithgps.com/events/Cumberland-Valley-Loop
2 the ACN HARRISBURG CROSSING at http://ridewithgps.com/events/ACN-HARRISBURG-CROSSING
3. the ACN BLUE MT LOOP at http://ridewithgps.com/events/Blue-Mt-Loop
4. the ACN 8 WV/VA/MD/PA HIGHLANDS at http://ridewithgps.com/events/ACN-8-WV-VA-MD-PA-Highlands
5. the ACN PA-NJ-NY LOOP at http://ridewithgps.com/events/ACN-PA-NJ-NY-LOOP .
I hoping by sharing these routes to get in contact with individuals or groups with an interest in either long-distance back-roads bicycle touring or these routes. I'd very much appreciate feedback and suggestions as to the ACN concept as well as the ACN routes.

What a wonderful adventure it was to bike from my home in Camp Hill, PA to Cape May, NJ! For many years, I had wanted to participate in a multi-day destination tour. After joining the HBC this spring, I heard of the Fall Tour and knew that was something I should consider. The time commitment and cost was reasonable, compared to other tours I’d read about. So, I signed up and was warmly welcomed by Grace House into the Fall Tour family.
