Saturday Morning D+ Ride. 20.3miles @ 11.7 mph
Richard Radwanski (L), Nancy Shearer, Jill Bradley, Dave Serff (S).
Four of us willingly stalled the start of our ride after hearing from one of our regulars, Diana Bermingham, that she was stalled in a Rt81 traffic jam while enroute to our ride. After approximate 20 minutes, Diana advised she was no closer than previously reported, and that we should go on without her. Reluctantly, we took off on a cooler than expected morning. The morning sun warmed the low 40 degree start temps quickly as we left East Hanover Park and rode around the Penn National complex. Quiet, country roads led us to Memorial Lake State Park for a brief mid-ride break at the practically deserted Middle Road Lot. Our ride back to East Hanover Park had us riding Rt443 through the Grantville area, past the Texas Eastern gas substation, and along a beautiful Manada Creek before returning to our start location. The most activity we observed throughout the morning were the many Thoroughbred horses sunning themselves at the area farms. Thanks to Dave Serff for performing duties as our sweep. Dave also gets extra credit for riding to the park from home. Refer to the below link for route details.
