The threat of thunder storms was upon us all day increasing as the day went on, but 14 of us decided that we'd take the chance to ride and socialize - hopefully before they hit. We started in Boiling Springs, went by the thriving metropolis of Hickorytown, and then on to Drytown. We were hitting all the big ones this evening:-) We stopped for a few minutes at the Carlisle Indian School Cemetery - there's a display on it in the Cumberland County Historical Society Museum in Carlisle. It is worth a trip there. A few rain drops started falling by the time we were close to the Giant Store in Carlisle, so we just headed back to Boiling Springs from there via Forge Road. We cut about 4 miles off the ride: the most scenic ones, but we can do the ride another time.
The Kirkham's joined us from Palmyra - Cathy was originally from Boiling Springs and enjoyed riding in her old stomping grounds. The Humphries are both riding e-bikes - a nice way to do a ride and really enjoy it without getting too worn out. The hardest part of riding them is getting them in and aout of the car:-) - no catching them on hills now!
We all stayed for dinner at Anile's. Really good food and great service.
