The R&RL Development Committee recently met and discussed the PA laws, safety, education and the consistent application of cycling etiquette during HBC rides.
Remember when you join an HBC ride it is EVERYONE’S responsibility on the ride to keep the group together and safe. The HBC stresses the importance and responsibility of all ride leaders and cyclists to follow the rules of the road, ride in a predictable manner and to communicate their intentions to all other motorists and cyclists during their rides. Communicating commands forward and backward ensures common group awareness.
It is up to all of us to keep our rides safe and enjoyable for ALL. Watch out for those around you and stay true to the category you are riding in. To continue in the joy of riding means staying safe and showing consideration for all that share the road.
**Next year…look forward to receiving regular safety information – “For the Safety of the Group”.
