I am writing you to inquire about involving the Harrisburg Bicycle Club at the The 13th Annual Randi’s Race: A 5K Run/Walk for Hope and Courage that will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Adams Ricci Community Park in Enola.
Randi's Race: A 5K Run/Walk for Hope and Courage is a community event that creates awareness and advocates against domestic violence. Randi’s House of Angels major fund raising event since 2005. The 5K Run/Walk is held in memory of my beloved daughter, Randi Lee Trimble, who was murdered in East Pennsboro Township on January 10, 2003, by a hit man hired by her husband. Each year the event is held on Mother’s Day weekend and is host to over 400 participants, 100 volunteers, community supporters, agencies, corporations and local businesses. Because of the generous support of the community over the past twelve years, Randi’s Race has raised more than $354,000 in support of Randi’s House of Angels. Over $263,000 has been donated to domestic violence and crime victim agencies that support programs and services for children. More importantly, Randi’s House of Angels maintains therapeutic programs, including Randi’s Kidz Club, a twelve-week therapeutic group for children; and Randi’s Camp, a three-day interactive summer camp.
A few years ago, I was so delighted that a very good friend of mine, Kim Pizzigrille came to the race with her fellow bikers. I had learned that members of the Harrisburg Bicycle club rode to the race at Adams Ricci, parked their bikes and then ran/walked the race. That was the talk of committee and volunteers that day. I hoped that the bike club would come back again and/or make it their annual challenge. Would the Harrisburg Bicycle Club be interested in coming out again?
I look forward to hearing from you. More information can be found at this link http://www.randishouseofangels.org/services-and-programs/randis-race.html
